Heart Researcher Will Use Mass Spec to Hunt Protein Signatures in Sudden Death Syndrome

Antonio López-Farré of the Hospital Universitario Clínico San Carlos in Madrid, Spain, will use the technology to look for protein signatures linked to sudden death syndrome. Genetic factors are one cause of the ailment but elicit no symptoms, making diagnosis especially challenging. López-Farré believes proteomics may find clues to the disease that genomics may not.
